Eastlight’s day of action helps Colchester residents

Local residents talking to Eastlight staff at Greenstead Community Centre.

RESIDENTS in Greenstead received repairs, advice and support during a community event arranged by Eastlight Community Homes.

Residents dropped into Greenstead Community Centre on Hawthorn Avenue last Thursday 19 January to talk to Eastlight about anything concerning them.

Our staff were on hand to listen and offer specialist advice on the cost-of-living, provide financial aid, report instances of anti-social behaviour and book prompt repairs.

Alongside Colne Valley Tree Services, our tradespeople visited to complete repairs and clean up estates across the area, filling up two skips worth of rubbish and unwanted items. Residents were also surveyed to ensure their views continue to shape the services they receive.

Valerie David, Head of Housing Management at Eastlight, said: “Thank you to everyone who came along to this event and met our staff to discuss any issues they had.

“We look forward to putting on more events like this in future to help residents feel comfortable and safe in their homes and communities.”
