Youth football team kitted out by Eastlight residents

A Witham football team will be scoring high in the style stakes when they reunite post-lockdown in new kits!

Witham Town Youth Football Club’s u13 blues players needed new tracksuits and home kits and approached Eastlight earlier this year to see if we could help. The Eastlight Resident Group (ERG) South was happy to provide the money needed to help the team see out the season in style.

Eastlight Community Homes' three resident groups each receive a pot of money annually to fund local projects and initiatives that benefit communities. This year, they’ve also paid for tracksuits for local football team, Felsted Rovers FC, funded drug and alcohol awareness sessions at Ramsey Academy in Halstead and are providing outdoor learning equipment at schools in Cressing and Braintree.

Resident and South Group member, Sean Collyer, said: “It was our pleasure to provide the money to the team.

It’s never been more vital that community projects are supported, as they make such a difference to people’s wellbeing.

"We wish this team all the best in climbing even higher up the league table this season!”

Ed Booker, Sponsorship Coordinator of the club, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Eastlight for sponsoring our kit. Our club has around 300 local children involved on a weekly basis, so it’s fitting that the team is supported by an organisation that’s such an integral part of the community. On top of that, they look brilliant!
