About our CIC
Our Customer Influence Committee (CIC) formed in May 2021 and is part of our governance structure accountable to our Board.
It oversees and supports the Board so that the Eastlight residents influence decision-making.
By using insight and data and reflecting a wide variety of resident views, the Committee directly connects customer voice to the top of our organisation and across the wider sector.
The Committee is made up of between six and ten customers appointed by the Board. They are remunerated.

Michelle Baker
Chair Michelle is an accountant from Braintree.
Paul Hocker
Paul, the director of a children’s charity, lives in Wivenhoe.
Steve Bentall
Steve is a sport and leisure expert living in Witham.
Catherine Turner
Catherine is an accessibility expert from Colchester.
Craig Clackett
Craig is a retired tutor and electrician from Sudbury.
Rue Garande
Rue is a Zimbabwe-born, domestic abuse survivor who lives in Colchester. She previously worked for Eastlight as a Community Empowerment Officer.
Magenta Lavey
Magenta is a new-build resident and lives in Sudbury. In 2022-23, she worked for Eastlight in our All In Incubator programme for the Colchester Community Team.
Michael Ryan
Michael is a retired health and safety professional and rail and construction specialist who lives in Halstead.
Cedric Selvadorai
Cedric is a businessman from the Braintree area.

As a community gateway housing association, we make it our mission to ensure Eastlight residents influence decision-making, improving the delivery and maintenance of our homes, services and communities.
