Residents of a Colchester estate are invited to attend a community clean-up organised by Eastlight.

The event, taking place at Cross Cut and Gantry Close on the Saw Mill estate on Wednesday, 26 October, has been arranged to help residents feel comfortable and safe in their homes and proud of where they live.

It will include skips for free disposal of large household items and garden waste, litter-picking, support and advice on recycling and garden maintenance, consultation on environmental improvements, such as having CCTV fitted, and free refreshments.

Steve Pettit, Estate Safety Manager at Eastlight, said: “We are aware that there are issues with anti-social behaviour on this estate, and we want to make positive changes which have a lasting impact on those living there.”

“As well as events like this, improvements include working closely with Colchester Borough Council to ensure future residents are supported to thrive in the area and comply with their tenancies.”

Representatives from Colchester Borough Council and local councillors will also attend the event.

Residents are welcome to turn up on the day, and to contact Steve with any questions on Stephen.pettit@eastlighthomes.co.uk or 0330 128 0330 (local rate).
