Eastlight Community Homes has secured £120m in funding so it can deliver on its pledge to build 3,800 new homes in the East of England before 2026.

The trailblazing 12,000-home housing association, which formed in July 2020, has committed to developing much needed affordable homes for members of its communities.

Last month, the organisation attracted funding from private investors as far away as the USA and Canada to be able to deliver new housing at a scale that will make a significant impact on people’s lives across Essex and Suffolk.

This follows previous success attracting funding via aggregator MORhomes, which raised £30m in investment on behalf of Eastlight last October.

David Hall, Executive Director of Resources at Eastlight, said: “We were clear when we created Eastlight in July last year through a merger, that we would ensure residents felt the benefits of our increased scale.

“The £150m funding we have secured to-date is clear evidence of this and will go a long way to delivering our promise of providing 3,800 new homes between 2021 and 2026.”
