Eastlight Chief Executive features on industry-leading podcast

Eastlight Community Homes’ Chief Executive, Emma Palmer, shares the housing association’s journey to date and comments on the fast-moving sector on the Housing Industry Podcast (HIP).

James Leighton, Chief Executive and Founder of recruitment solutions company Andersen James – and HIP podcast host – interviewed our Chief Executive, Emma Palmer earlier this month.

The platform invites sector leaders to share their organisation’s mission to solving the housing crisis, as well as their tech innovations, business transformations and efforts to achieve net zero carbon. Recent episodes have invited senior leaders from housing associations across the UK, including Saffron Housing Trust, Notting Hill Genesis and Peabody.

On their most recent episode, Emma shared Eastlight’s journey, since the merger between Colne Housing and Greenfields Community Housing during a turbulent, global pandemic in 2020, to our story today.

Commentary highlights include:

  • Eastlight’s Community Gateway framework
  • Our Resident Academy and All In programme
  • The value of CIH qualifications
  • Attracting new talent to the housing sector
  • Advice for aspiring leaders.

Emma also discussed her 30-year career in the sector and the honour of being granted the Lifetime Achievement Award at Inside Housing’s 'Housing Heroes Awards' earlier this year.
