Cost-of-living support programme to launch in Colchester

A NEW scheme to support residents struggling with the cost-of-living is to be launched in Colchester this month.

The All In Community Team for Colchester, created by housing association Eastlight Community Homes, have spent the last seven months building one bold idea to support the city’s residents who are struggling to make ends meet.

This month, the team will launch Trusted, a community-led programme for anyone struggling with the cost-of-living.

The event, held on Tuesday 24 January at the Headgate Theatre between 10am-12.30pm, will introduce the community to an initial pilot of Trusted, which will involve supporting 15 people from Colchester with money worries.

Over six sessions, the group will cover worries including debt and budgeting, and each attendee will receive a shopping voucher after each session.

Magenta Lavey from Colchester’s All In team says:

“It’s hard to talk about money but we want to make life easier for the growing number of Colchester residents who are struggling during the cost-of-living crisis. Trusted will be a comfortable space to learn, share and support each other.”

The event is invite-only, so to attend, please email colchester@weareallin.co.uk
