Eastlight staff hit the ‘Open Road’!

Staff from the SOS Bus Outreach Project

Over the next six weeks, Eastlight’s Tenancy Sustainment team will work in partnership with the Open Road charity to provide social support to local people.

Funded by Braintree District Council, the SOS Bus Outreach Project aims to listen to and advise the most vulnerable people in society and bring positive change to our communities.

After a successful launch on the 28th of July in Braintree town, followed by a visit to Halstead on 11 August, the SOS Bus will continue visiting priority locations over the coming weeks to help tackle homelessness, drug abuse, offer some guidance on debt and mental health, and much more.

Locations are:

  • 25 August: Witham, Newland Street (10am - 4pm)
  • 1 September: Braintree, Weaver’s Park (10am - 4pm)
  • 22 September: Silver End, Broadway (10am - 4pm).

The Open Road team will then visit the areas on a twice-monthly basis over the next two years to combat significant challenges facing the district and provide essential services to those that might not have access.
