Community garden day brings residents together at Harold Sims House

Residents and Eastlight staff members stood in a communal garden.

Following some disruption caused by the installation of new piping throughout the building, Eastlight colleagues were keen to give something back to residents at Harold Sims House, a Housing for Older People Scheme in Earls Colne.

Equipped with materials for a full refresh of the communal outdoor space, everyone worked side-by-side to give the garden a much-needed new lease of life by rolling up their sleeves to paint, plant, clear, and refresh.

Together, they created a brighter, more welcoming garden that residents can enjoy all year round. In fact, residents are already planning to spend more time outdoors, with social gatherings and get-togethers on the horizon… we hope our invite is in the post!

What a fantastic example of community spirit in action by turning a challenging period into a positive outcome. It’s wonderful to see residents working together with us to create a space that everyone can be proud of.

Huge credit to everyone who got involved. The transformation looks fantastic and we love to see teamwork in full bloom.
