Permission will be granted if:

a)  there is designated off-street parking at the property with a dropped kerb and suitable driveway (e.g. shingle/asphalt etc.)

or

b)there is parking space immediately adjacent to the property that is within your tenanted demise (i.e. no non   tenanted land such as paths, pavements, green spaces etc. between the parking space and the tenanted area)

or

c)  there is potential for off-street parking within the tenanted demise that fronts a road/highway. Eastlight require the tenant to have a dropped kerb and suitable driveway before we will permit an EVCP. Tenants are required to obtain and provide the necessary written permissions from the local Highways Authority or landowner. Any works to the dropped kerb, vehicle crossing and driveway must comply with the design standards required by the Highways Authority.

Note regarding (c), should part or the whole of the land between the tenanted demise and road/highway be an Eastlight owned ‘Community Asset’ (e.g. greenspace, footpath etc.) an assessment will be made on the viability of any works in line with our Community Asset management plan.

Exceptions

We reserve the right to refuse applications where cables would extend beyond the boundaries of the tenanted demise and into public/communal areas (including but not limited to pavements, paths, greenspaces or other third party or Eastlight owned land).

Such refusals are made on account of legal, safety or practical considerations. This is particularly relevant to flats and maisonettes but may also apply to certain houses where physical or legal constraints make the installation unfeasible or inappropriate.

Fees

We don’t charge a fee to review or respond to your initial application and we make every effort to carefully assess each request based on the options available. However, not all properties are suited to an EVCP and, sadly, there will be instances where we are unable to approve their installation.

Approval is not guaranteed, so please do not commit to purchasing or leasing an electric vehicle until you’ve received formal written consent. We strongly recommend reviewing this page in full along with the “Making Changes” and “Will I be charged a fee?” sections before deciding to proceed.

If, following our initial response, you wish to continue with the application, we will inform you of the applicable fee(s). Fees start from £50 and will increase depending on the technical requirement and further engagement required.

The costs associated with dropped kerb permissions and installation can vary so please check with your Local Highways Authority and contractors before proceeding.
