Eastlight Chair honoured with national award for lifetime of inclusive leadership

Hattie Llewelyn-Davies has been recognised for her five decades of impact, inclusion and visionary change.
We’re delighted to announce that our Chair, Hattie Llewelyn-Davies, has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement in Inclusion & Business Leadership Award – a prestigious national honour celebrating her extraordinary contribution to inclusive leadership.
The award was presented on Tuesday, 04 November at the Leadership Conference & Awards (LCA) 2025: The Inclusion Dividend, hosted by diversity and inclusion experts, Voice at the Table.
The Conference brought together senior leaders from across the UK to celebrate the people and organisations redefining what inclusive leadership looks like today.
The Award Winners Selection Panel described Hattie as “a quiet force for radical change,” whose leadership is “rooted in compassion, driven by inclusion and sustained by a belief in people.”
They also praised her for building lasting structures, empowering communities and shaping a generation of leaders: “Dozens of Board members, executives and emerging leaders credit a pivotal conversation with Hattie as the moment their confidence and clarity took root. Hattie sees potential and creates space for it to flourish.
“Her courage, generosity of spirit and unwavering belief in others have reshaped organisations and elevated the people within them.”
Hattie’s leadership has helped to establish Eastlight as the UK’s largest resident-led housing association. Her vision has embedded resident governance at every level – from Board membership to our Customer Influence Committee – ensuring lived experience drives decision making.
Reflecting on the award, our Chief Executive, Emma Palmer said:
“Hattie’s commitment to inclusion inspires everyone who meets her. She lives and breathes the values that define Eastlight – inclusivity, ambition and accountability. A very well-deserved award.”
We’re proud of Hattie’s courageous, inclusive leadership, which has empowered residents, strengthened communities and helped shape Eastlight into the organisation it is today.
Congratulations, Hattie: you’re a force to be reckoned with!
