Eastlight Community Homes is committed to providing high quality homes and services to your residents through ensuring that we recover monies owed by Eastlight residents both past and present.

This policy explains how Eastlight will collect rent, service charges and other charges and work with our residents to enable them to remain in their homes.

Eastlight will make all reasonable efforts to maximise income collection through prioritising prevention and partnership working, and tenancy sustainment.

Residents’ responsibilities will be clearly communicated and the outcome of non-payment explained, with enforcement action remaining a last resort once all other methods have been exhausted.

Eastlight will consider individual circumstances at each stage of the process and are committed to supporting those experiencing financial hardship. Actions taken to recover monies owed are recorded to ensure a consistent approach to debt recovery and compliance.

The policy also aligns with key legal requirements and supports Eastlight’s “Think Customer” approach by prioritising fairness and transparency
