What do Neighbourhood Voices actually do?

Neighbourhood Voices are local residents who work alongside our neighbourhood teams to help spot issues early, share feedback from the community, support improvements to local areas and encourage others to get involved.

You’ll be helping us deliver our place-based approach, making sure services reflect what matters most to residents.

You won’t be expected to handle complaints or individual tenancy issues, get involved in antisocial behaviour or safeguarding matters, or make decisions on behalf of Eastlight.

  • Estate and service monitoring

Join walkabouts or inspections, report on cleaning, grounds maintenance, communal repairs, fly tipping and safety concerns.

  • Local insight and feedback

Gather neighbour views, flag recurring issues and feed priorities into local team discussions, patch plans and consultation.

  • Communication and engagement

Share key messages, signpost residents to the right services and encourage participation in surveys, events and digital tools.

  • Community support

Promote clean-up days, help welcome new residents and act as a visible point of encouragement — not a complaints channel.
