Join Us for Our My Eastlight Team Scrutiny Review
At Eastlight, residents play an important role in helping us improve our services. One way you can do this is through Resident-Led Scrutiny. Scrutiny gives residents the opportunity to review a service, discuss experiences and make recommendations for improvement.
This year, My Eastlight Team was one of the most popular topics chosen by residents through our scrutiny topic survey and was subsequently approved by our Customer Influence Committee as part of the 2026/27 scrutiny programme. We are keen to hear from residents about how this way of working operates in practice and where improvements could be made.
We're looking for 24 residents to take part in our My Eastlight Team Scrutiny Review Day on:
-
Date: Saturday 21 November 2026
-
Time: 10:00am to 2:30pm (arrivals from 9:45am)
-
Venue: Eastlight House, Charter Way, Braintree, CM77 8FG
We have deliberately chosen a Saturday to help make the event more accessible and encourage participation from a wider range of residents, particularly those who may not be able to attend events during the working week.
On the day, you'll hear about how this operates through presentations from staff, review resident feedback and other materials, discuss what works well and what could be improved, and help develop recommendations for Eastlight to consider. Eastlight will also respond to recommendations on the day.
What is this review about?
The topic of the review is:
“How the My Eastlight Team model is working in practice, including the neighbourhood lead role, communication and presence in communities.”
The objective is to assess whether the My Eastlight Team model is delivering a visible and accessible service through the Neighbourhood Lead role, and identify opportunities for improvement.
This review will focus on the role of Neighbourhood Leads and explore two key questions:
-
Are Neighbourhood Leads visible and easy to contact?
-
Does the Neighbourhood Lead role provide a visible and active presence within communities?
Rather than reviewing individual cases, residents will help us understand:
-
Whether residents know who their Neighbourhood Lead is and how to contact them;
-
Whether residents feel Neighbourhood Leads are visible and accessible;
-
Whether residents understand what support Neighbourhood Leads can provide;
-
Whether the role delivers the local presence and support residents expect; and
-
What improvements residents would like to see.
What is not included?
To help keep the review focused, it will not cover:
-
Individual resident cases, complaints or service requests
-
The performance of individual members of staff
-
Repairs service delivery
-
Income management decisions
-
Individual ASB investigations
-
Organisational structure and staffing decisions
-
Communal area contracts.
Please note: We welcome residents sharing their experiences, whether positive or negative. However, these experiences will be used to identify wider themes and opportunities for improvement rather than resolve individual issues during the event.
Who are we looking for?
We're seeking a diverse range of residents, including:
-
Social and affordable rent tenants;
-
Residents living in Housing for Older People (HFOP) schemes;
-
Shared owners;
-
Leaseholders;
-
Residents from different neighbourhoods and communities across Eastlight.
We're particularly keen to hear from residents who have not previously been involved in scrutiny activities to hear a wider resident voice.
Whether you know your Neighbourhood Lead well, have never contacted them, or are unsure who they are, we'd like to hear from you.
Support Available
Lunch and refreshments will be provided on the day. Free parking is available nearby and residents can request a taxi to and from the event or reimbursement of reasonable travel costs.
As a thank you for your time, residents attending the event will receive a £50 Love2shop voucher, which can be used with a wide range of retailers, restaurants and supermarkets.
Can't Attend in Person?
You can still get involved through our Remote Feedback Option.
We'll provide information and materials about the review and ask you to complete a short survey to share your views, experiences and feedback.
Residents who complete the remote feedback exercise will receive a £10 Love2shop voucher.
