Resident Charter Celebration highlights your impact
Celebrating resident achievements and shaping what comes next.
Around 40 residents joined us at Little Channels, Chelmsford on Thursday, 30 April for our Resident Members Charter Celebration – a day dedicated to recognising the difference resident voices have made since the Charter launched.
Bringing together residents who are already actively involved, alongside others keen to learn more or get involved for the first time, the event created space to reflect on progress, share experiences and explore what comes next.
Showcasing resident impact
Since launching in September 2025, the Resident Members Charter has helped ensure that resident views are central to how Eastlight listens, learns and makes decisions.
During this year’s celebration event, residents heard how their feedback is helping to improve services, including positive movement in Tenant Satisfaction Measures and a growing number of service improvements shaped directly by customer voice.
Updates were also shared on the resident‑led Scrutiny Programme and how resident insight is influencing decisions at Board level, alongside examples of how partnership working with residents is supporting improvements within neighbourhoods.
As Eastlight resident, Victoria, shared:
“It’s been really insightful… I definitely want to get more involved in my local community.”
Similarly, Eastlight resident, Bobbie, said:
“I’m really glad I came... It’s been lovely to meet people and hear more about what goes on.”

Connecting, sharing and shaping the future
A key highlight of the day was the afternoon ‘carousel’ session, where residents spoke directly with teams from across Eastlight, including Home Solutions, Neighbourhoods, Customer Services and Customer Experience.
These one‑to‑one conversations gave residents the opportunity to ask questions, raise local issues and share ideas in a more informal setting.
Residents also explored a wide range of involvement opportunities through a Calendar of Opportunities, showing how they can continue to take part in the months ahead.
Building on these conversations, residents contributed to a Strategy Consultation exercise, sharing their views on key priorities and future opportunities. These insights will now help inform the development of Eastlight’s upcoming Corporate Strategy.
As Eastlight resident, Moia, shared: “It’s better to get involved, to help get things sorted.”
Residents also highlighted the value of understanding how Eastlight works, with Eastlight resident, Ken, commenting:
“It helps you understand what’s going on behind the scenes – and how you can make a difference.”
