Eastlight begins search to recruit its next Board Chair
Eastlight Community Homes is now seeking its next Board Chair, marking an important step in the organisation's future as it continues to deliver affordable homes, invest in communities and strengthen services for residents across the East of England.
We’re a G1, V1 and C2-rated resident-led housing association owning and managing around 15,000 homes, including the 2,000 new homes we’ve delivered since our formation in 2020.
Residents are at the heart of everything we do. As a community gateway organisation, resident insight and experience helps shape our priorities, influences our decision-making, and holds us to account for the homes and services we provide.
Who we’re looking for
We are seeking an exceptional leader who can help guide Eastlight through its next chapter of growth and opportunity, while remaining focused on delivering excellent outcomes for residents and communities.
Whether your experience has been gained within housing or another regulated sector, you will bring strong governance credentials, strategic insight and sound judgement, alongside a commitment to social purpose.
As Chair, you will:
- Lead and support a high-performing, inclusive and effective Board
- Promote strong governance and decision-making across the organisation
- Work closely with the Board, Committees and Executive Team to help shape Eastlight’s forward strategy
- Develop productive relationships between the Board and Executive, providing both support and constructive challenge
- Champion resident influence and ensure their voices continue to shape decision-making at the highest level
- Act as a visible ambassador for Eastlight, building trusted relationships with residents, colleagues, regulators, partner organisations and local stakeholders
- Help the organisation navigate future opportunities and challenges while maintaining financial resilience and a clear focus on residents.
We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in people and communities, and who will invest time in understanding Eastlight’s residents, stakeholders and neighbourhoods. You will be an engaging and collaborative leader, able to draw on diverse perspectives and ensure every voice is heard around the Board table.
